From Air Liquide to Plug: A Unique Journey
Before joining Plug, Andrew worked with industry partners at Air Liquide. He spent countless hours in the halls of Congress advocating hydrogen policies alongside familiar faces from Plug. Impressed by the dedication and mission of the Plug team, he made the transition and joined the company two and a half years ago in October 2022.
Making a Legislative Impact
Andrew helped draft key legislation for the U.S. Strategic Helium Reserve. The Reserve has been critical for airships, medical imaging, semiconductor manufacturing, and aerospace. Thriving in a Challenging Field
Working in public policy comes with its share of challenges. Andrew understands that regulatory rules naturally create hurdles and that navigating these gray areas requires creativity and attention to detail. He has learned that sometimes the best way forward is to change direction, even if it means taking a step back. This flexible approach has been key in overcoming obstacles and finding effective solutions.
Fueling a Clean Energy Future
Andrew is excited about the potential of hydrogen and fuel cells to transform the U.S. energy landscape. He looks forward to playing a direct role in diversifying, developing and maturing the energy sector. A Glimpse into Andrew’s Personal Life
Outside of work, Andrew has an interesting personal story. He grew up as a beach kid who loved surfing in the Gulf of Mexico and later married into a mountain and skiing family. Although his wife has officially converted him to skiing, he jokes that he is still the worst skier among his family.
These days, much of his free time revolves around his children’s activities. He volunteers on the pit crew for his kids’ high school marching band and spends his time driving his children to soccer games and practices.
