H2@Work Employee Spotlight: Jamie Parker

April 3, 2025

Jamie is a Senior Administrative Assistant at Plug in the Vista office. With over 13 years of event planning and hospitality experience, no task is too big or too small. She loves being the go-to person and making everyone’s day easier with her resourcefulness. Her work keeps the office running smoothly and efficiently.

A Perfect Match with Plug

Plug came to Jamie unexpectedly. After working an event with Plug colleagues at her previous job, two coworkers reached out and recommended a role at Plug. As a new mom seeking a better work-life balance, she saw this as a perfect opportunity. Plug’s culture supports working moms, and that made the decision easy.

Extraordinary Event Highlights

One of the most unforgettable experiences in Jamie’s career was planning and managing a holiday party for over 4,000 people. Imagine ice sculpture seafood towers, dancers suspended from the ceiling, and a Candy Land themed dessert. It was a wild, creative challenge that turned into a career highlight. The energy and excitement of that day continue to inspire her.

Overcoming Challenges with Grace

As an event planner, Jamie has seen it all. Stage sizes set up wrong, broken elevators, dropped food, dead microphones, and more have tested her skills. She believes that handling mistakes with grace and finding the best solution is what truly matters. Her motto is to keep moving forward and not let setbacks bring her down.

Passion for the Future and Life Philosophy

Jamie is excited by the endless possibilities for hydrogen and fuel cells. Her work reflects a belief in a bright future built on innovative energy solutions. Her life philosophy is simple and uplifting: just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, as Dory reminds us in Finding Nemo. This mantra helps her push through tough times with a smile.

Fun and Dance

Outside of work, Jamie loves to dance. Tap dancing has been a passion since her childhood, continued through college, and remains a joy even now as she balances life with her two kids. Dance keeps her energized and creative, adding a spark of fun to her everyday routine.
