April 14, 2021

Environmental sustainability is no longer optional; it’s become an imperative.

Today, Plug Power’s CEO, Andy Marsh, will be participating in The Hill’s Sustainability Imperative on the “Investing in Sustainability” panel. This track will look at how and why more companies and organizations are investing in sustainability initiatives, discussing both the costs and rewards of doing business in an environmentally responsible manner.

Panelists will answer the question, “Why are major sectors, companies, and states aiming to reach net zero, and what commitment is needed to get there?”. On the Investing in Sustainability track, Mr. Marsh will be joined by other panelists including Steph Spiers (CEO, Solstice) and Frank Getman (CEO, Great Bay Renewables) for this dynamic discussion. This session will be moderated by Steve Clemons (Editor at Large, The Hill) and Bob Cusack (Editor in Chief, The Hill).

The event in whole has attracted other prominent speakers including Dr. Todd Cort, Lecturer in Sustainability, Yale School of Management, Jeff Immelt, Former CEO, GE, Hon. Gina McCarthy, White House National Climate Advisor. A full list of speakers can be found here.

The Hill’s Sustainability Imperative is a national three-day virtual event featuring fireside chats with policy leaders and practitioners in the sustainability ecosystem. With the global population slated to grow to nine billion, leading nations of the world are prioritizing conservation of water and other precious resources, the greening of energy sources to establish a new equilibrium between safe and sensible growth on one side, and responsible environmental stewardship on the other. The good news is that public-private partnerships abound in embracing this challenge, but more successful examples of high traction sustainability are needed.
