Plug is filled with ambitious individuals who don’t back down from a challenge. Carty Hastey, Plug’s Senior Systems Administrator embraces every challenge that comes their way.

Playing a pivotal role in Plug’s IT infrastructure, Carty describes their primary focus as, “ensuring that the stability, security, and efficiency of our various systems are maintained as best as possible.” Carty’s day starts with operational checks and a quick glance at overnight tickets and email escalations. This is just about the only constant in their day. 

One of their mottos is, “Each day is different in Plug IT!” 

At Plug, collaboration is encouraged – and Carty trusts their peers to help them problem-solve. “I work with a group of extremely talented and devoted individuals,” Carty noted. “It’s a great feeling coming into work every day knowing that our team can tackle any obstacles that come our way, and we can have a blast doing it.”

Choosing Plug was easy for Carty. The company’s mission to build and dominate the hydrogen ecosystem from start to finish is a boon to the clean energy movement. Carty works hard to help the company achieve this objective.

When Carty isn’t busy handling after-hours escalations at Plug IT, they cherish spending quality time with their wife and son. Whether it’s browsing the aisles of Target, indulging in Chipotle burritos, or enjoying outdoor activities like playing in the backyard or taking walks at SPAC, family time is always a priority. 

Carty also devotes time to refining their golf skills, eagerly anticipating the upcoming season on the course. Additionally, they stay engaged with the ever-evolving IT and security landscape, recognizing the importance of continuous learning in their career. It’s this passion for both family and professional growth that embodies Carty’s dedication and enthusiasm at Plug.
