December 6, 2024

Phillip Roberts works as a Field Service Technician at Plug. His role involves repairing and diagnosing hydrogen fuel cells while ensuring client satisfaction. “I work directly with our clients to make sure we meet their expectations,” Phillip explains.

Journey to Plug

Phillip’s entry into Plug was unexpected but rewarding. After working in home delivery, he applied for several jobs and came across Plug. Initially skeptical, he researched the company after receiving a call. “Once I realized Plug was legitimate, I saw the great job opportunities, insurance benefits, and room for growth if I didn’t mind a bit of travel.”

Overcoming Challenges

In his first month, Phillip dealt with contaminated hydrogen from a vendor that shut down 36 trucks. He replaced 21 stacks in two months and received valuable guidance from experienced technicians. “They taught me how to avoid leaks and solve problems effectively. Together, we got the site back up and running.” Thankfully, this is a rare occurrence.

Excitement About Hydrogen

Phillip is enthusiastic about hydrogen’s potential. “It’s a clean, flexible, and high-energy power source with no emissions. There’s no limit to what we can achieve.”

Life Philosophy

Inspired by his father, Phillip believes in doing his best and never giving up. “Things won’t always go your way, but you need to find solutions and keep moving forward,” he shares.

Balancing Work with Fun

For Phillip, work is more than just completing tasks. He values teamwork and creating an enjoyable work environment. “We get the job done, but we also make sure to have fun and support each other. Some days, we even team up to play Call of Duty and have a good time.”

Phillip’s quick thinking, willingness to learn, and positive attitude make him a vital part of Plug’s team, driving success and innovation every day.
