Plug Power’s new Chicago facility Drives Value for Midwest Customers

January in Chicago is typically cold, windy and snowy, inspiring hibernation until Spring. But not for Plug Power, where we pride ourselves on our commitment to great customer service.  For that reason, we’ve been hard at work in Plug Power’s newest facility, our new sales, service and training center in Romeoville, IL.

The sales, service and training hub in the Chicago metro area is located in the heart of one of the largest material handling markets in North America. It is central to our growing base of Midwest customers, including Arytza, Central Grocers, Golden State Foods, Walmart and Uline.

This facility is creating significant value for our customers:

  • Locally stocked parts inventory ensures high equipment availability to maximize productivity and minimize equipment downtime for our Midwestern customers.
  • Technician dispatch drives lower service cost by improving technician utilization across multiple local sites in the area, leading to expanded calendar coverage, increased responsiveness, and faster maintenance and repair.
  • SiteView monitoring: our IoT-enabled suite of 24×7 intelligent monitoring services enables proactive and predictive maintenance for customers’ GenDrive fuel cell fleets and hydrogen fueling stations.
  • Training and Demonstration Center provides our service technicians and customers a convenient, central location for onsite training, new product and technology seminars, and “hands on” opportunities to see and experience the Plug Power technology that is changing the way the world moves.
